Homebuyer Education is a course outlining what a mortgage is, how to determine if a payment fits into your budget and the consequences of not making your payments. The objective of the course is to teach a prospective home buyer how to create a budget and how to deal with unexpected expenses.
Homebuyer education is often required for first time homebuyers. A "First Time Homebuyer"
is someone that has not had property ownership in the past three years.
Most courses
can now be offered by email, phone, and correspondence. There is no cost for our
customers who use one of these approved sources.
Most programs do not require homebuyer
education, although we still prefer to have a private consultation with our customers
to review their finances.
